A Queue Card doesn't guarantee entry.

Details of the 2027 Queue aren't out yet, and the AELTC says they'll appear before the tournament.

  1. The day before at the latest: install the Wimbledon app and create a myWIMBLEDON account. In 2026 you needed it to buy, and it was scanned at the point of sale. Have a credit or debit card and photo ID such as a passport ready. You can't pay cash.
  2. Before you leave: check the Queue status on wimbledon.com.
  3. Go to Wimbledon Park. It's a five-minute walk from Southfields station. The Wimbledon Park Road gate is open 24 hours, and the Revelstoke Road and Home Park Road gates from 6.30am to 10pm.
  4. Join the end of the Queue and take a Queue Card. It's dated and numbered, and you keep it until you've bought your ticket. You can't pass it on or hold a place for someone else. If you step away for the toilet or a drink, be back within 30 minutes. Cards stop when the Queue is full.
  5. Wait for wristbands from 7.30am. Stewards start at the front, giving them to people queueing for Centre Court, No.1 Court and No.2 Court tickets. The number matches that day's tickets, and once they've gone, everyone else is offered a Grounds Pass.
  6. Buy at the ticket sales point. Show your Queue Card and pay by card. It's one ticket per person, and you can buy for companions if they're with you.
  7. Go through security. The grounds open at 10am and entry is in Queue Card order. You and your bags are searched.

In 2026 there was a waiting area at the north end of AELTC Wimbledon Park for people who need help moving or waiting. It's reached through the Car Park 10 gate, with one carer at most, and Queue rules still applied. Check the official information for 2027.

How early to arrive

The AELTC won't estimate the wait and only recommends arriving "very early". The Queue starts the evening before and grows very early in the morning. In 2026 it opened at 2pm on 28 June, the day before the tournament, and people were asked not to arrive sooner. AP reported that during the 2026 tournament some people arrived as early as 4am and some waited up to seven hours.

A Queue Card doesn't guarantee entry. Capacity varies by day with the number of courts in play and the weather, and once it's reached, people only get in as others leave. In 2026 ticket sales finished by 8pm.

Rules for queueing overnight

Tents can hold two people at most, and one person should be present at all times. Gazebos, barbecues, stoves and fires are banned. You'll be woken between 5.30am and 6am. Anyone who doesn't pack away their tent loses their Queue Card.

Smoking and vaping are banned in the Queue, and so is loud music. Takeaway deliveries must be collected at the Wimbledon Park Road gate before 10pm.

What each ticket lets you see

Ticket2027 official priceWhat you can see
Grounds PassDays 1-8 £35, days 9-11 £27, days 12-14 £22Unreserved seats on No.3 Court, Courts 12 and 18 and outside Courts 4-11 and 14-17. The big screen on The Hill
No.2 Court£55-£110 (Queue sales in 2026: first 10 days only)A reserved seat on that court, plus everything a Grounds Pass covers
No.1 Court£40-£270As above
Centre Court£85-£400 (Queue sales in 2026: none on the last four days)As above

Prices come from the AELTC's 2027 price table. Queue prices for 2027 Show Court tickets haven't been announced. For 2026, the official page gave a figure of "500 tickets" for Show Courts, without making clear whether that was per court.

A Grounds Pass doesn't get you onto Centre Court, No.1 Court or No.2 Court. On No.3 Court it covers only some sections, and a queue for the unreserved seats forms at the southern end. The next day's order of play appears on wimbledon.com after 8pm, but no ticket promises a particular player or match.

The AELTC can stop re-entry at any time, so check you can get back in before you leave the grounds.

From Grounds Pass to a seat: Ticket Resale

In 2026 Grounds Pass holders could buy Show Court tickets returned by people leaving. You had your app's QR code scanned in the Queue Village or Parkside to enter a virtual queue. Sales began at 3pm. When your turn came you got an SMS and had to return in time to the kiosk beside No.1 Court. Prices were £15 for Centre Court and £10 for No.1 and No.2 Courts. Tickets were subject to availability and aren't covered by the rain refund. The 2027 prices aren't out yet.

What you can bring

These rules come from the Conditions of Entry (updated 28 August 2026).

ItemRule
BagsUp to 40 x 30 x 30cm. Hard-sided bags of any size are banned, including picnic hampers and cool boxes
Drink containersDual-skinned vacuum flasks, travel mugs and opaque bottles over 500ml are banned. Non-transparent liquids, or liquids in metal or opaque bottles that prevent staff from checking for concealed objects, must be stored in an AELTC-provided left-luggage facility (if available) or surrendered before entry
AlcoholIf you're of legal age, one of these per person: one bottle of wine or Champagne (up to 750ml), two cans of beer or lager (up to 500ml each), or two cans of premixed aperitifs (up to 500ml each). Spirits, fortified wines and other high-strength drinks are banned
FoodHot or strong-smelling food can't go into Show Courts, and neither can glass drinking vessels. Corked bottles must be opened before you reach your seat
Chairs and shadeCamping chairs, tents and parasols are banned. Personal umbrellas are fine
CamerasTripods, monopods, selfie sticks and gimbals are banned, as are lenses over 300mm when extended

If you're coming straight from the airport, watch your bag size. The AELTC calls both 40 x 30 x 30cm and 60 x 45 x 25cm "aircraft cabin size", but only the first gets into the grounds. Left luggage is outside the grounds and takes bags up to the second size. In 2026 it cost £1 for a bag and £5 for items such as tents, cashless only. The Queue's left luggage opens at 5.30am, and all locations close one hour after play ends. Larger suitcases aren't accepted, so leave them at your hotel. Banned items found after entry are confiscated and not returned (2026 Queue Guide).

Children and rain refunds

Under-16s must be with an adult aged 18 or over, and that includes the Queue. Everyone aged five and over needs their own ticket. Under-fives aren't allowed on Show Courts (Centre, No.1, No.2, No.3, Courts 12 and 18).

Under the 2027 terms, you get a full refund if play is cancelled before the gates open. After that, you get a full refund for less than one hour's play on your court and 50% for more than one hour but less than two. For Grounds Passes, play is averaged across the courts. Only tickets bought before 5pm are covered, and Resale tickets aren't covered at all.

To book a seat ahead instead of queueing, see our comparison of ways to buy tickets. Tickets from unofficial websites aren't valid and may be cancelled.
